Go Get Them Jeanne!.....................
ATI PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS, MICKEY THOMPSON TIRES & CAMAROGUYS.COM SUPPORT JEANNE LINKE AT NHRA SUPER NATIONALS
NHRA Division 1 Stock Eliminator racer Jeanne Linke will compete at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park’s NHRA Super Nationals on June 2-5, 2011 with the support of ATI Performance Products, Mickey Thompson Tires, and CamaroGuys.com. She reflects on the importance of her main sponsors when seeking that National Event Wally Trophy.
“I’m proud to represent ATI, Mickey Thompson, and CamaroGuys.com this season. These sponsors have really helped me with the parts and advice necessary to race competitively in both heads-up and bracket racing situations. I have high expectations for this weekend,” said Linke.
Linke earned herself 2 championships in the last few years. She led a point’s series in 2008 while racing the East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge during her rookie season. Then, she led an additional point’s series in 2009. She became the IHRA Summit Pro-Am Patriots Division Stock Eliminator Champion.
Linke is off to another strong start with an event win and semi-final finish already in her log book for 2011. She is thrilled to be one of the quickest cars with her engine combination explaining how much of a role her sponsors play in this new found horsepower.
“My father, Doug, and Uncle Russell have raced Super Stock for over 30 years. They have countless class victories throughout the years and have held several NHRA National Records. I guess I just grew up understanding that in order to be the best you have to first work at being one of the fastest,” explained Linke.
Brian Tilburg, Trout Run, PA, built the Chevy 305 engine under Jeanne’s hood of her Camaro. “Tilburg has worked with my engine since I began racing the stocker back in 2003 and each time we think we’ve run out of ideas on how to make more power he continues to surprise my father and I,” said Linke.
As Linke’s engine began making more power, J.C. Beattie, Jr. and Randy Bruette, of ATI Performance Products, stepped into Linke’s racing program. “Both J.C. and Randy are extremely smart men, and they really helped me learn more about how much the right converter can influence my racing,” said Linke.
ATI Performance Products, celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year, provides Linke and other racers with products specifically designed on an individual basis to provide maximum power and track consistency. When Linke’s reaction times began slowing up and she noticed her converter beginning to weaken in her burn-outs and reflect on her short times, ATI had a fresh converter for her within a few days. The new converter not only fixed her problems, but improved her elapsed times as well. The ATI - Beattie family continues to operate with the next generation much like Jeanne continues the legacy of Linke Racing.
Carl Robinson, of Mickey Thompson Tires, has also been an extremely important coach to Linke and her entire racing family for over 4 years when comparing the differences in slick tires.
“Radial tires are important on the track. They reduce your car’s rolling distance and are great for picking up your e.t.’s during those important heads-up runs. I know plenty of racers who have chosen Mickey Thompson radials and they all seem as impressed as I am. Robinson has given me advice that has already helped me win class eliminations against some of my closest competitors,” explained Linke.
Robinson helped improve Linke’s reaction times as well by influencing her into a shorter set of Mickey Thompson lightweight ET front tires on a beautiful set of the company’s brand new Pro-5 ET front drag wheels. Linke described Mickey Thompson Tires as “easy to work with and extremely supportive of sportsman racing.”
In addition to ATI and Mickey Thompson, Linke is giving her newest sponsor, CamaroGuys.com, a warm welcome at the NHRA Super Nationals. “CamaroGuys.com sells everything a Chevy enthusiast could possibly need, and makes shopping on their site simple. It’s truly a one-stop resource,” explained Linke. Linke is excited to represent CamaroGuys.com this season and hopes to give them a terrific reputation.
“I could talk great about my sponsors all day,” added Linke. “They have been such a terrific help in the last few years and I hope that anyone interested in performance, street or strip, will consider them. Check out their web-sites for further information: www.camaroguys.com, www.atiracing.com and www.mickeythompsontires.com. Each of these companies will take the time to really look at your specific needs.”
Linke thanked her family, the Doll’s, Sepanek Racing Transmissions, Beef’s Performance Car Care Center, Craig Trabucco, John Panuzzo, Michelle Marchese, and Diane Kubicke Photography, as well as her home track and current employer, Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.
